Items we can’t accept as donations

When you have some donations to take to one of our Donation Centres or Donation Points, please be aware that there are some items that we are unable to accept.

Find out more below and check our list.

Items we can't accept

Why are there items we can’t accept?

There are a number of items that we’re unable to accept at our Donation Centres and Donation Points. Mainly it is for legal, hygiene or health and safety reasons, or sometimes that based on our experience, we just aren’t able to sell a particular type of item.

It also goes without saying that we can only accept donations of items that are in a saleable condition. Damaged, broken or incomplete items that have to be disposed of by us, cost our charity money – funds that should be spent on providing the care at our hospices.

So we ask that when you bring your items to us, you check that your items are in saleable condition and not one of the items we cannot accept.  If you’re in any doubt, please get in touch the Donation Centre to check in advance of your visit.

Below you’ll find details of what we currently can’t accept.
