A donation in memory of a loved one is a simple way to show how much they meant to you and to do so in a way that has a huge impact on the lives of those that need our care in the future and their friends and family. It’s one of the most popular ways to remember those we have lost.
We have two very special, hand-crafted Memory Trees, found at both Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell and St Julia’s Hospice in Hayle and is one of the most beautiful ways to remember your loved one. The trees stand in beautiful, reflective spaces and are decorated with unique copper and brass handmade leaves, engraved with the names of loved ones who are no longer with us. The design is inspired by the mighty oak tree – a symbol of courage and power.
The tree’s leaves grow more and more each year at our hospices, representing the love that continues to grow for the ones we have lost.
The leaves are also very special to us because the donations made on the creation and renewal allow us to continue providing peace, comfort and calm when someone is nearing the end of their life. There are six designs to choose from.
Your loved ones name is then engraved onto a copper tag that hangs with the leaf.
Your leaf, which can be ordered for a kind donation of £100 (or £9 by monthly direct debit) will hang proudly on your chosen tree for a year, after that time you may choose to renew this, or your leaf can be returned to you in a presentation box to treasure forever.

Asking for donations instead of flowers at a loved one’s funeral is a meaningful way of honouring their memory and we are so grateful to receive these gifts.
We have dedicated funeral collection envelopes available to make your attendees donations as simple as possible to make. Using our envelopes also allows us to claim Gift Aid on each donation, making your gift go even further at no extra cost to you. For every £1 donated, we can get an extra 25p extra to go towards patient care.
We will ensure these get to you in plenty of time.
A special place filled with treasured memories. Much Loved Pages are a personal online space to remember your loved one.
They are particularly special as they can be shared with family, friends, and colleagues anywhere in the world in real time. Your page will become a beautiful space where people can share a treasured memory, photographs and videos. You can also announce funeral arrangements, mark special occasions, such as a birthday or anniversary, and light candles to make the space feel even more special while supporting our charity in your loved one’s honour.
Light up a Life is our annual service dedicated to remembering loved ones who are no longer with us. It is a wonderful way to come together and remember in their honour. Truro Cathedral is bathed in a sea of light, with a candle lit for every person we are remembering. During the moving service, our loved ones’ names are projected against a special film of remembrance.
Dedications of your loved one’s name are also published in our Books of Remembrance that will be displayed at Truro Cathedral, Mount Edgcumbe Hospice, St Julia’s Hospice and available online.
