Do you fancy taking on one of the top 10 trekking trails in the world? Take a look at the breathtaking Inca Trail Trek challenge via Global Adventure Challenges.
There are literally thousands of Inca Trails within Peru and many other charity events sound similar, but there’s only one Inca Trail that leads through the majestic Sun Gate, and then onto the fascinating ruins of Machu Picchu. Your Cornwall Hospice Care challenge begins in the Inca Capital of Cusco – a fascinating city, full of colonial charm hidden deep in the Andes Mountains. Exceptional support and companionship await – from the porters and chefs through the medics and guides, you’ll be in great hands with superior support in reaching your goal!
This classic Inca Trail encompasses 3 high mountain passes – the highest being 4,200m. The trek will be tough and will certainly test you, but upon witnessing the sight of Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate, mirrored with breathtaking views across the Andes, your efforts are more than worthwhile. Conquering the one and only Inca Trail to Machu Picchu – the world’s most important archaeological find and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World!

Search for the Northern Lights with Discover Adventure on this stunning non-technical winter trek on the edge of the Arctic Circle
Iceland lies on the edge of the Arctic Circle and is home to some of Europe’s greatest wild landscapes. A land of incredible contrast and natural beauty, its wild volcanic landscapes, mountains, glaciers, hot springs, geysers and waterfalls, combined with its rich history, literature and folklore make it a fascinating country to explore.
We discover this stunning scenery on this fantastic trekking challenge in southern Iceland, as we trek through a striking mix of geothermal valleys and beautiful mountain scenery, streams and waterfalls. There will be snow underfoot so it can be challenging walking, but no technical expertise is required as you take in this beautiful region.
Staying in a spectacular environment surrounded by lakes and mountain scenery, miles from the nearest big towns, the dark skies offer a great chance of seeing the spectacular Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) and we watch each evening – the icing on the cake on this memorable challenge!
If the Northern Lights Winter Trek ins’t for you then why not visit Discover Adventure for more challenges.

Situated on the beautiful cliffs of Perranporth, the Cornish Parachute Club is the most picturesque skydive centre in the UK for you to tick something off your bucket list, on a date to suit you!
After a full safety briefing on the ground, you’ll meet your tandem skydive partner who will expertly fit you into your harness. You will then be escorted to the plane, before climbing to 10,000ft and being gifted an amazing view of most of Cornwall. Before you know it you will be skydiving at 120mph towards the Atlantic ocean. After covering the first mile in a breath-taking 30 seconds, the parachute will open and the second mile will take a leisurely 10 minutes, so you have time to take in the spectacular views!
You can choose the date you want to do your tandem skydive, which is perfect if there is an anniversary connected to the reason for your skydive for Cornwall Hospice Care. The Cornish Parachute Club run tandem skydives every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from March to November.
In just a few simple steps you can be on your way to the ultimate skydive experience.
What happens if I don’t achieve my minimum fundraising target?
Unfortunately, if you don’t raise your minimum sponsorship before the deadline then Cornwall Hospice Care will not be able to pay the balance for your challenge and you will be unable to go. But don’t panic, if you are struggling with your fundraising then get in touch with us before the deadline and we can help you figure out the best plan for you.
Alternatively, every challenge offers a self-fund option. This means that you are able to choose your own fundraising target so there is no pressure to reach a required minimum.
I really want to take on a challenge which isn’t on your list - what can I do?
Check out the links to our partner companies on our webpage – if they aren’t offering the challenge you want but you can find it elsewhere then go for it! We will still support your fundraising for Cornwall Hospice Care – get in touch with Jade today!
I’ve found the challenge for me, but it’s all booked up – what now?
Most adventure companies will repeat their most popular global challenges throughout the year, keep an eye on their events calendar as it’s sure to come back up. They might also have a waiting list, so it’s worth getting in touch with them.
This also applies if you’ve found the challenge you want to do but it’s a private expedition for another charity. It will almost always be offered as an open challenge as well, where you can opt to support the charity of your choice.
Will I be booked on with other people fundraising for Cornwall Hospice Care?
Most of the time you will join what’s called an ‘open challenge’. This means that anyone can sign up and fundraise for whichever charity they would like. So your team will be made up of people from all round the country, pushing themselves for different causes!
However, if you are a group of 10 or more that fancy the trip of a lifetime and to fundraise exclusively for Cornwall Hospice Care, then get in touch and we can organise a closed expedition just for you!
