Fashion that doesn’t cost the earth

At our Sustainable Fashion Show we’ll be showcasing fashion that doesn’t cost the earth…literally!  All the fashion items on display are items that have been donated to us for a chance at second life and to save from landfill.

Our models will be wearing brands from Primark to Stella McCartney as we aim to show you the extensive range of fashion you can find across our shops.

It won’t just be the amazing range of men’s and ladies clothing that catches your eye…or your ear!  We will be keeping you entertained with performances throughout the evening but we wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise by telling you any more just yet!

Epphaven Silver

Owner Jenna creates ocean inspired jewellery using 100% recycled 925 sterling silver, gold and sea glass.  She designs and crafts jewellery from her Cornish studio and can often be found beach-combing to inspire her designs and gather sea glass.

Lost Post

LostPost is a collection of ethically made, individually designed jewellery, repurposed vintage cutlery, and keepsake gifts. They’re handmade by Carriann and inspired by moments of celebration, love, and affirmation.

Smartie Lids on the Beach

Owner Michelle Costello’s unusual speciality is Marine Debris Art – created using plastic found on beautiful Cornish beaches.  Each piece of plastic has its own unique story and includes flotsam that has washed up from far and wide.

Jeanie&Me

Rosie is the designer/maker behind Jeanie&Me who creates beautiful garments with a low environmental impact. Using fabrics which are inspired by nature (Harris Tweed) and to reduce waste (recycled jeans), Rosie individually crafts hoodies, shirts and bags at her Cornish workshop.

Make A Mends

Make A Mends is a community based shop in the main street of Redruth run by Sara and Sarah.  They aim to repair and give new life to a big range of clothing and other textiles.

Flotsam Flo

Founded by Kate in 2021, Flotsam Flo is dedicated to transforming non-recyclable waste into stylish fashion items, including bags and accessories. Kate tackles plastic pollution head-on by giving new life to materials such as wetsuits, life jackets, paddling pools, marketing banners, and inflatables that are notoriously difficult to recycle.

Star of Wonder

Download this special track now for a donation to Cornwall Hospice Care

Paul and Morwenna otherwise known as ‘Sapphire Ice’ have recorded a special song for Christmas, which will be performed live for the first time at our Sustainable Fashion Show. You can download a copy of it below – Paul and Morwenna ask that you then make a donation to us here at Cornwall Hospice Care after you have your copy.

A few words from Paul

Morwenna and I have sung together on and off for nearly 30 years now, which doesn’t seem possible. After deciding that we would like to record some material together after all these years, Star of Wonder was the first song we completed back in March. We both loved the original recording of this song by the songwriter, Tori Amos, and we wanted to record our own version just for ourselves.
Another friend, Nigel Parsons, helped us record, mix and produce the song.

I am now in my second year of volunteering at MEH, and during one of my volunteer shifts when I was reading the fundraising updates, I started to think about whether our recording of Star of Wonder might be something that could benefit the charity in some way, not only in hopefully raising some money, but also in raising awareness about the charity and the role of volunteers. When I discussed with Morwenna my idea of giving the recording to the charity, she said yes with no hesitation!

The time I spend volunteering is so rewarding. I can’t describe how it feels when I walk through the doors of the hospice at the start of my shift. It is the most peaceful and mindful environment I have ever experienced, and it really benefits my mental health. The staff and other volunteers are so friendly, and it feels like an honour and a privilege to be helping patients, and their families and friends, at times which are often difficult and very emotional for them. I easily get as much out of volunteering as I give to it, and until you volunteer you just don’t realise quite how rewarding and wonderful it is. I would urge anybody who is thinking about volunteering to just go for it – as well as helping to support the hospice, it will have such a positive impact on their own life.

So Morwenna and I are delighted to give the song to the charity in the hope that it can help to raise money and awareness.
