MOUNT EDGCUMBE HOSPICE & ST JULIA’S HOSPICE

Caring for our community

Cornwall Hospice Care is a 24/7 UK healthcare charity that provides compassionate, specialised end of life care for patients, their families and carers. Together with our local community, we aim to ensure every day matters to those whose lives we touch.

We offer inpatient care at Mount Edgcumbe and St Julia’s Hospices, Lymphoedema clinics, community support hubs, and bereavement services. This is free, thanks to the Cornish community, who’ve generously supported our work for over four decades.

VOLUNTEERING

The gift of time

As a charity, we rely on the incredible help of our volunteers, who so generously provide their time and knowledge. We simply couldn’t provide our care without our volunteers!

So whatever your skills, background, passions, or motivations for volunteering, we’re certain to find the perfect position for you, whether that be on our hospice receptions or wards, in our shops and warehouses or giving your time to help at a fundraising event.

SHOP

More than a shop

Our charity shops are at the heart of their local communities and bring people together. Cornwall Hospice Care relies on the support of Cornish towns and villages from Bude in the north to Penzance in the far south.

Whether you donate items at our dedicated centres, or regularly visit your local store, all the money raised supports the care we provide to patients, carers, families and friends

OUR CARE

Get support when you need it

Losing a loved one is a very challenging time in life. Relatives and friends can offer support, but if you need more help, we are here for you. Even if a loved one of yours passed away a while ago, you can still turn to us whenever you need to. Family members and carers of anyone we cared for before their death can access our services for free.  Our Community Services team also provide support free of charge to anyone coming to terms with loss, whether they have a connection to us or not.

You can also visit our Cornwall Hospice Care Useful Links Directory for patients and family members – which has a library of useful downloads and links.

Leave a gift in your Will

You become a guardian of our future by leaving a gift in your Will. To put it simply, your gift will be life-changing as 2 in every 5 of our patients are cared for thanks to the gifts people leave us; without you, we would not be able to deliver our incredible care.

Choosing what will happen to everything you own after you die is an important decision. After taking care of your family and friends, you’ll be amazed at what one final gift can do, no matter how big or small.
