Care Quality Commission Ratings

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and social care services in England. The commission ensures the quality and safety of care in hospitals, dentists, ambulance services, hospices and care homes and the care given in people’s own homes.

The CQC monitor, inspect and regulate services and publish what they find. As we run two individual hospices, we have a Care Quality Commission rating and report for each one:

Mount Edgcumbe Hospice

At the latest inspection on 13th December 2022, Mount Edgcumbe Hospice was rated as OUTSTANDING.

St Julia’s Hospice

At the latest inspection on 15th August 2022, St Julia’s Hospice was rated as GOOD.

You can find out more about what the Care Quality Commission does on their website www.cqc.org.uk

You can also see the information they hold about Cornwall Hospice Care by using the search function on their website.

Gender Pay Gap Reports

Gender Pay Gap Reports are a tool for employers to disclose the difference in the average hourly wage of men and women across a workforce and is part of the government’s wider strategy to achieve gender equality in the workplace.

The Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021 regulations meant that from 2022, organisations with over 250 employees have to, by law, report on their gender pay gap, showing a ‘snapshot’ date of their employees in June each year and reporting on the hourly gender pay gap for those employees on the same date in December of that year.

We are also required to publish a statement setting out what, in the employers’ opinion, are the reasons for the gender pay gap in their company and what measures are being taken or proposed to be taken by the employer to eliminate or reduce that pay gap.
