Join Robin Moore for local Spring walks in Cornwall for charity, getting out in the beautiful countryside whilst supporting a great cause!
Robin is celebrating 25 years of fundraising for Cornwall Hospice Care, and has a wonderful schedule of Spring Walks you can get involved with.
The first of the Spring Walks is a BANK HOLIDAY CHARITY WALK in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care
Local Easter Sunday Walk – 20th April – following part of the local St Piran’s Trail.
Venue: St Piran’s Church, Carharrack, Redruth, TR16 5LD
Time: 11am
Distance: 6-8 miles
You can register for this Bank Holiday Walk on the day for a fee of £10 (cash), the payment of which goes to Cornwall Hospice Care.
THE ST PIRAN’S TRAIL – Supporting your local community and charity.
For those who require a full day out, there may be an optional extended walk to Lanner, followed by a social lunch at the Coppice between 2-3pm.
Otherwise, it’s a 6-mile walk starting from St Piran’s Church, Carharrack; we can also meet St Day locals at The Old Church around 11.30am if that suits.
Beyond St Day, the journey follows an off-road course across Pink Moors to Treskerby, Mount Ambrose and Vogue where we will be stopping for refreshment at The Star Inn.
At this point, some of you may wish to finish the walk and organise a carvery lunch here (if available – best phone and book if required).
Returning to Carharrack, we follow Tolcarne Road to the next right turn which leads to a mud track. This eventually joins the Wheal Damsel Road as it runs into Carharrack.
A few of us are planning to continue a further mile to Lanner for a social lunch at the Coppice but will be returning to St Day for the Bank Holiday evening.
Next up in the Spring Walks series is a ST GEORGE’S DAY EVENING WALK
Wednesday 23rd April – A Celebration of Spring and Lighter Evenings.
Walkers will be invited to make a donation to Cornwall Hospice Care via the Donation Jar.
We are hoping to set off from St Piran’s Church around 6pm for a walk to Gwennap and Lanner, followed by ale (there will be a carvery available in the evening too!) before returning to Carharrack.
The final Spring Walks route is THE GWENNAP PILGRIMAGE
We will be doing this walk on Sunday 4th May – Bank Holiday Sunday.
This 10-mile section of the Cornish Pilgrimage takes in most of the Gwennap region, usually starting at the Coppice Car Park. However, many of us will begin the walk from St Piran’s Church in Carharrack. Details to follow on Robin’s website: Robin Moore | Author and Charity Walker .
Venue: 11am Start from the Coppice.
Carvery lunch after – between 2-3pm or when walk is complete.
