We are so excited to welcome you back to Run Falmouth Half Marathon 2025!

The Run Falmouth Half Marathon is the 4th event in the Cornwall Road Running Grand Prix Race series sponsored by Cornwall Glass. The race is arranged and managed by Cornwall Hospice Care with support from the Falmouth Running Club.

It’s an incredibly popular event for both seasoned club runners and those wanting to set themselves a personal challenge and/or set themselves a goal to raise money to help fund our Cornish charity.

For the last two years, it has sold out 6 weeks before race day, so if you’re thinking about signing up, we’d urge you to do so to avoid being disappointed!

Event HQ is situated at the wonderful Princess Pavilion for the third year! The 13.1 mile route begins just below the Pavilion on Cliff Road, runners will follow the loop around Pendennis Headland and then out on the coast road, past the beautiful beaches of Gyllyngvase and Swanpool and glimpsing Maenporth Beach as it rises to give fabulous views over the bay back to Pendennis Castle.

Can you do Run Falmouth 2025?

A good level of fitness and training is required to complete Run Falmouth Half Marathon but whatever your ability you can achieve your goal and complete the half marathon with the right training! There is a cut-off time of 3 hours and 15 minutes (13:15) to complete Run Falmouth Half Marathon, at this point, marshals will be stood down and the road closure lifted – finishing outside of the cut-off means you won’t get an official finish time but our sweep vehicle will remain with any runners in this scenario and we will endeavour to ensure all finishers received a medal regardless of their finish time.

More about the Run Falmouth Half Marathon

The Run Falmouth route takes place entirely on the road and follows undulating Cornish country lanes featuring open fields and wooded scenes, passing the beautiful Falmouth Golf Course twice. This event is very well supported along the whole route as the communities from Falmouth and the surrounding picturesque villages come out to cheer our runners on.

There are all the usual features of a Grand Prix event; water stations, bag drop, bananas, prizes, and the Run Falmouth Half Marathon is chip timed.

Registration & number collection will open between 8.00 am – 9.30 am and the race will start at 10.00 am prompt.

After selling out early for the past two years, we have increased the race capacity to 850 – we anticipate these places will sell out quickly so don’t delay!

Online registration will close at midday on Monday 10th March, or sooner if the event reaches capacity. Registrations will be accepted on the day if places are still available, but we would encourage you to register in advance to avoid disappointment.

Frequently asked questions

If there are spaces available then yes! We have sold out for the last couple of years so will communicate if we sell out on our website, social media and in the Runners Guide. We have increased the capacity of this event due to it’s popularity but do still advise signing up in advance.

Registration on SI Entries closes at midday on Wednesday 12th March 2025This also includes transfers and deferrals.

While it isn’t essential to fundraise to be a participant in Run Falmouth Half Marathon the event is organised by Cornwall Hospice Care, a charity. Your registration fee covers the cost of putting the event on with a small donation to the charity, by setting a fundraising page you will help us fund the care – be a Hospice Hero!

All runners will need to go to the registration desks ON THE DAY OF THE RACE to collect their number individually, these are organised ALPHABETICALLY BY SURNAME.

As well as your number you will be given an ankle tag – this is your timing chip and MUST BE WORN ON YOUR ANKLE.  We ask that it goes on your ankle so that the timing mat on the ground at the start/finish line picks up and registers that you have crossed it . Your tag will be collected from you at the finish line.

REGISTRATION DESKS ARE OPEN FROM 8.00am TO 9.30am – please allow sufficient time to arrive, register, use the bag drop facility and listen to the safety briefing.

Emergency contact details will be printed on the back (provided by you when you sign up).  Please check your Emergency Contact information on the reverse of your running bib is correct before you set off.

Please come to the Princess Pavilion, 41 Melvill Road, Falmouth, TR11 4AR.  Look for the pink Cornwall Hospice Care gazebos in the courtyard.

Registration will be open at the Princess Pavillion between 8AM AND 9.30AM. Follow the event signage to our pink Cornwall Hospice Care gazebos. All runners must register with our team to collect their running number and timing chip.

The race starts at 10.00AM PROMPT on CLIFF ROAD in Falmouth, just below the Princess Pavilion.  It’s a short walk down the path from the Pavilion to the start, but gets very busy so please allow plenty of time.

The postcode for Princess Pavilion is TR11 4AR. The venue is well signposted within Falmouth, and has pedestrian entrances on Melvill Road and Cliff Road.
There will be a road closure in place along Cliff Road and around the Pendennis headland from 9.30am until approx. 1.30pm.

There will be NO parking available at Princess Pavilion.  Please do not try to park here – we will place a marshal in the car park.

As in previous years, participants will have to find their own parking in Falmouth.  There are a number of car parks close to the venue. For further parking info please click here. Please be respectful when parking. Gyllyngvase car park is free and approximately a 10 minute walk from Race HQ.  Please allow plenty of time for parking and walking to registration.

A bag drop facility will be located under gazebos at Event HQ. Bags will be stored in running number order.  You will find a tear-off strip on your race number that must be attached to your bag before you leave it with our team.

We ask you not to leave anything valuable in your baggage. Cornwall Hospice Care, Falmouth Running Club, and the Princess Pavilion will not be held liable for loss or damage to any personal possessions left in the bag drop area.

There will be portaloos located in the garden at the Princess Pavilion. There are also available toilets within the Princess Pavilion complex.

Our team will be happy to accept any sponsor money that you have collected, (card, cash and cheques made payable to Cornwall Hospice Care all accepted). If you have outstanding sponsorship pledges and money still to collect, please photocopy your sponsor form and hand in the original on the day.  If you’ve set up an online fundraising page using JustGiving, the money you’ve raised will be paid to Cornwall Hospice Care automatically.

Earphones and headsets of any kind (including bone conducting headsets) are banned from Grand Prix races, anyone reported wearing them will be disqualified without exception.  We value your safety – much of the route is on public roads, without road closures so you’ll need to be able to hear what’s going on in your surroundings and any instructions from our race marshals on the route.

There is a course completion time limit of 3 HOURS 15 MINUTES – BY 1.15PM – this is at the discretion of the Race Director. If you haven’t completed by this time or don’t think you will, you are welcome to continue but be aware that many of the route marshals will have stood down from their posts by then.  There will still be a sweep vehicle/marshal, but you will need to use the pavements etc., as you would as pedestrian. In addition, you won’t be given an official completion time. We will endeavour to present all finishers with a medal outside of the cut-off time.

Yes of course!  There will be FOUR water stations on the route at approximately MILE 4, MILE 7, MILE 9 and MILE 11. We are using compostable biodegradable cups at each of our stations.

There will be a sweep vehicle (Cornwall & Devon 4×4) following the runners for your safety.  If at any point you feel that you need assistance, medical or other, then please ask one of the route marshals to make contact with the race headquarters.

If you need to pull out from the race, please do not just leave the course. You MUST inform a marshal and return to the finish to report that you are safe and return your chip timing tag please.

Medical support for the Run Falmouth Half Marathon will be provided by Omega Medical on the day with medics at Event HQ and on the route. Please speak to a marshal or call the emergency number provided on your bib if you need their services when out on the route.

If you are unable to take part please let us know as soon as possible by calling us on 01726 66868 (option 3).  Run Falmouth has sold out early for the last two years, so please do let us know so that we can offer your place to another runner who may be on our waiting list.

We may also be able to offer to defer your place to the following year.

If you wish to transfer your place to another runner this can be self-managed on SI Entries.  Registration fees are non-refundable. The registration fee is per person.

The deadline for all transfers and deferrals is WEDNESDAY 12TH MARCH 2025 AT MIDDAY.

The minimum age to take part in Run Falmouth is 18 years old.
