About the Classic Car Show

Featuring over 800 cars of all marques, Mount Edgcumbe Classic & American Car Show is the biggest annual event held at this beautiful country park.

Not just a classic car show, the summer fair has something for everyone – from local crafts, artisan food & beverages and a fairground to keep the children entertained, we even have a popular car boot section.

Quoted in the February 2023 edition of Custom Car Magazine as ‘One of the biggest events of it’s kind… you’d also go a long way to find a better value car show’.

The event is formally opened at 11am, but visitors can arrive from 9am when the fair and car park opens.

It is estimated that in excess of 10,000 visitors attend our show each year – and for good reason!  With the beautiful backdrop of Mount Edgcumbe House at the top of the park and the scenic Barnpool and views across to Plymouth, you can enjoy the scenery from anywhere in the show ground.

Advance online registration for the Car Show is OPEN, and we highly recommend you book in advance to guarantee your spot  If we still have space, you may still be able to register on show day to exhibit in the Car Show – it’ll be on a first come first served basis so our team recommend arriving early – they’ll be ready to welcome you from 8am!  (Please note, stallholders can ONLY book in advance.)

General Public information

The Classic Car Show and Summer Fayre really does have something to offer for everybody.  With a variety of over 800 cars from the beloved American classics to military to sporty, the car enthusiasts among us are going to find something to love!  We boast in excess of 100 stall holders, selling craft, clothing, hats, fudge and jewellery, paddle-boards, clocks and candles – it is likely that if you can’t find it here, it’s not worth buying! Perhaps you are looking for a bargain? You definitely need to check out the car boot section! And if you get hungry there are caterers to suit every taste!

We don’t sell visitor tickets in advance – pre-booking is for the car show, stallholders and car boot only – please beware of anyone trying to sell tickets online/on social media and do not click on any links if you are not sure. See the pink buttons if you are a car show exhibitor or trader.

All proceeds from this event are split between the two organising charities, Cornwall Hospice Care and the Friends of Mount Edgcumbe. We do all the hard work ourselves, with support from the Park team and a team of very determined volunteers, and don’t rely on a third party events company.

Travelling to the Classic Car Show and Summer Fair

Please respect the one way system put in place on the Peninsula. We work closely with the Local Safety Advisory Group (which includes representatives from local emergency services and councils) to put this in place.

Please be patient with us, we aim to put on a superb event and want to welcome as many of you as possible. But with small roads and limited public transport, this is sometimes challenging but we cannot wait to welcome you all.

Information for Stallholders

We are proud to host over 100 stallholders at this event selling a range of locally produced craft items from jewellery, clothes and ornaments to pictures, plants and candles to the all important car memorabilia and autojumble! We have an incredible offer of artisan food and drink to both take away and enjoy on site as well as a range of fast food, chips, burgers, slushies and churros.

If you think  you have something unique to offer and would like to trade at the event please email Jade and let her know what you sell (we try our best not to over saturate the fair with similar stalls so please be specific when telling us what you would like to sell).

Why support the Classic Car Show and Summer Fair?

Cornwall Hospice Care is a 24/7 UK healthcare charity which runs Mount Edgcumbe and St Julia’s, the only 2 adult hospices in Cornwall.  They provide compassionate, specialised end of life care, and are almost entirely reliant on donations and fundraising events like this one.  The care they provide is free, thanks to the support of people like you.  Together, with the local community, Cornwall Hospice Care aim to ensure every day matters to the people whose lives they touch.

The Friends of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park are a local charity consisting of like-minded people who love the Park and wish to see it preserved and improved for the enjoyment of all.  The charity works to raise funds to purchase items that will benefit the general public, which the Park’s management cannot afford to buy.  To this end the Friends work in conjunction with Park management to encourage the Park’s use and development.  A key activity of the Friends is to raise funds for special projects and over the years the Friends have donated well over £300,000 to support and maintain the House and Park.
