This is a 2 day evidenced based Advanced Communication Skills course.
The Advanced Communication Skills course is set over 2 days where the successful applicant will devote to the whole course to enhance not only their own existing skillset but contribute to those of all the group participants. Each day will run from 9.15am until 4.30pm.
Models of communication will be addressed, and the focus will be on the ‘SPIKES PLUS’ model currently in use across most of the country.
Experience within the field of advanced communication is essential at a senior level and as a base line requirement onto this course. The course is open to all healthcare professionals who are constantly having to deal with those difficult communication scenarios that require the skills to both support and to challenge at times, those that they face regularly.
It is an experiential course which includes role-play for which all participants will take part in live, as realistically as possible, the shared experience.
Building upon existing skills, participants will take away not only fresh and innovative ideas gained from the design of this Advanced Communication Skills course, but also will benefit from the safety and experience from the trained facilitators throughout.
Networking will give an opportunity for the course participants to support each other, not only during the education and training, but also post-course, along with that of the ongoing support as needed, by the facilitators.
A certificate will be awarded upon completion of the session.
