At Cornwall Hospice Care we rely on the generosity of supporters like you to provide outstanding care to patients and their families.  Gifts left in Wills are our second largest source of income and help us to:

  • Provide Exceptional Hospice Care: Ensuring compassionate care at Mount Edgcumbe and St Julia’s Hospices.
  • Support Specialist Services: Funding our lymphoedema clinics, which provide vital relief to patients.
  • Create Special Moments: Making weddings and other cherished events possible for patients and their loved ones.
  • Offer Education and Training: Supporting healthcare professionals with expert training to deliver exceptional end-of-life care.
  • Bereavement Support: Offering guidance and comfort to families during difficult times.
  • Maintain Our High-Class Facilities: Keeping our hospices equipped and welcoming for all who need them.

A gift in your Will, no matter the size, can leave an extraordinary impact.

“I cannot thank the hospice team enough for all the love and care they gave to my darling wife. Her last days were filled with happiness, the change in her from the moment she entered the hospice was better than I could have ever hoped for. I will cherish that memory forever. Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Real Stories, Real Impact

Why May chose to leave a gift in her Will to guard our future:

“St Julia’s is very close to my heart. The care meant nothing was ever too much trouble. They’d look after me like they did Mary. You’re safer there than anywhere. If I needed to, I’d ask to go to St Julia’s. When you’re poorly you want that kindness and compassion”

“I’ve left a gift in my Will because it’s how they looked after me and Mary and I think things like that are precious. I talk about St Julia’s a lot and say I’ve been down there and I know what it’s like. I could stay there with Mary and there aren’t many places you can do that. You can’t fault any of them.”

Why have others chosen to guard our future?

“To thank them for the excellent care they gave to my late Husband during the last 2 weeks of his life in St Julia’s”

“I am a Ward Volunteer and I really enjoy just being there to help in any way that I can. The work of the charity is much needed in Cornwall”

“My partner died of cancer and although she died at home I know what a wonderful and necessary service hospices provide”

“Because my Father was looked after in Mount Edgcumbe in 2009”

How to Leave a Gift In Your Will

Leaving a gift in your Will is simpler than you may think. Here’s how:

  1. Decide on Your Gift: You can leave:
    • a specific amount (Pecuniary)
    • an item/s (Specific)
    • or a percentage of your estate (Residual)
  2. Speak to a Solicitor: A professional can help ensure your Will reflects your wishes.
  3. Include Our Details: Provide your solicitor with the following information:
    • Charity Name: Cornwall Hospice Care
    • Registered Charity Number: 1113140
    • Address: Porthpean Road, St Austell, Cornwall, PL26 6AB

If you do choose to leave a gift in your Will to Cornwall Hospice Care, we would be honoured if you could include a few words in your Will to explain why.  While we are always deeply grateful to receive these incredible gifts, we don’t always know the stories behind them – knowing why you chose to do so means so much to our teams.
