The charity team are promoting the environmental benefits of donating your items and second hand shopping, as Head of Retail Frazer Hopkins explains; “In the last financial year we sold in excess of one million donated items and we want to emphasise that shopping second hand has lots of benefits. It stops waste and saves people money and it helps fund our hospice care.”
This new shop will stock a range of furniture, homewares, books and bric-a-brac and hosts a donation point to accept your generous donations. If you’re looking for sustainable fashion, collectables and comics then you can also pay a visit the Cornish Charity’s shop in the town at Market Place.
Frazer continued; “Volunteers are vital to our charity shops and donation sites. We are delighted to be building a skilled and knowledgeable team and are looking for more people to join. Volunteering can be as valuable to individuals as it is to us – you can learn new skills, meet new people and develop a routine, plus you’ll get volunteer discount to use across all of our shops!”
The shop is currently open from Monday to Saturday and can also collect furniture donations – please phone 01736 695647 to arrange this or book a collection at www.cornwallhospicecare.co.uk
